The main point is that writing your ideas down in script format helps you to think more clearly and present your ideas in a more structured fashion. It also prevents you from rambling, from the verbal pauses, and stress that come from speaking in the moment. And learning how to notate your script for the variations in speech that native speakers are listening for.
