- [Instructor] I've been on consulting projects where the primary objective is dealing with the fact that someone is either retiring or leaving for another position. That should be a routine occurrence, but without proper planning, I've seen it cause panic. You absolutely must prepare for the fact that someday the person who built the model isn't the same as the person who will maintain the model. So our next element is documentation. It's terribly important that you produce good documentation. If the data miner is the only one who understands it, it's not data mining. A great best practice to establish is to write a milestone report at the end of each CRISP-DM phase. A missed opportunity if you don't keep a copy of CRISP-DM handy, is that there are explicit documentation suggestions listed and described for each phase and task.
