Identify your leadership blind spots
- Unfortunately, no one's perfect. That's obvious. But what's less obvious, is how we're imperfect. When you have blind spots as a leader, that's exactly where they are, blind spots. You can't see them, and you don't even know they're there. So what can you do? What distinguishes the best leaders, is that, first of all, they're aware, in a general sense, that they do have weaknesses. Being human and all. And second, that they're willing to take action to discover and address them. So here are three ways you can begin to understand your leadership style, and how to maximize its benefits, and minimize its shortcomings. Number one, to learn about your weaknesses, start by looking at your strengths. That might sound counter intuitive. But the truth is, most weaknesses are actually mirror images of what you do well. In many areas of life, we recognize that doing too much of a good thing, is bad. It's great to go to the gym, but if you're doing it 10 hours a day, that's a problem…
