- You've probably heard a lot these days about having a gratitude practice, but it is not just a groovy New Age fad. Research into positive psychology has shown that consciously seeking out opportunities to express your thanks is extremely meaningful for the recipient, and also for your own happiness and fulfillment. So here's how to do more of it. First, make a list of the people, now and in the past, who had a major impact on you personally and professionally. Did you tell them at the time how much of difference they made to you? If not, could you do it now? Or if you did, maybe you might want to do it again. It might seem weird to contact someone out of the blue, sometimes decades later, but the reception is almost always incredibly positive.
