- There's a lot of debate these days about the best work environment. Should we all go virtual and work from home or, in order to spark innovation, should we bring everyone back to the office and try to provoke creative collisions? It's possible that face-to-face interactions lead to more breakthrough ideas and, for sure, it's important to build good working relationships, but it's an ironclad mathematical formula, the more time you spend with colleagues, the more opportunities they'll have to waste your time. Here are a few ways to preserve the good, but limit that productivity drain. First, it's important to know yourself and your circadian rhythms. When are you at your best? When are you personally most productive? Some folks are great in the morning and are able to plow through difficult work and make real progress.
