Startups and nonprofits are known to lag the market rates. And while the majority of companies will meet the market rates, big tech companies are known to lead. Now, as a savvy negotiator, it's crucial that you conduct market rate research so you have an idea of the expected compensation based on your title, your location, and your industry.
