Assign into buckets with XLOOPUP with Excel
- Have you ever needed to assign things into buckets like this? (bell rings) Here is the trick to do it in seconds. First, we write out what we want our buckets to be including the bottom level threshold for each. You'll see why in a second. Next, we come in with the X lookup function. We use the value we want to categorize as our lookup value. The lookup array is our bottom level thresholds and the return array are our bucket names. Next, we hop into the optional X lookup arguments as signified by the brackets, and we type a comma to hop over into the second one there, which is our match type. And here we're going to type a minus one to signify an exact match or the next smallest item. And wallah, we have assigned this into a bucket.
