Using someone's name

- A really simple way to make a positive first impression when you meet someone is to use their name. People love hearing their name. It creates a culture of respect, recognition, and consideration for the conversation. Here are three tips to help you better recall names. Clarify spelling. "Is that Catherine with a C or a K?" It demonstrates that you're genuinely interested and makes you visualize the name in your mind, helping with retention. Repeat it in the conversation a couple of times. "It's great to meet you, Simon." And then later, "Simon, how long have you worked at the company?" Try to make some kind of an association. Maybe Georgia wears green, or Herman's in HR. This way your brain will make a rich connection with the name of the person so you'll be far more likely to remember it.
