Customize a Gantt chart view
Since Gantt charts are the most popular representation of your plan, this is also where most customizations occur. As a reminder, the left side is the table side and the right side is the time scale side which contains a bar chart. We will look at formatting both sides in this section. Before I dive in and show you these techniques, I want to give you a personal story. Earlier in my career, I had a boss that said, "Cindy, why don't you adjust your summary tasks throughout the whole entire plan and make them Size 14?" And I would do that. And then the person would say, "Okay. Let's make them green." And I would make all those changes. But I was doing that one at a time, selecting every single one. And then, of course, the very next day I would get another request, "Oh, we need to send this to the plotter. Can you do some other formatting? Or we have a customer that now wants everything in orange because that's their corporate colors." I used to waste hours and hours and stay after work…
