Use LinkedIn Learning to build skills

- [Instructor] In the military, we're always learning new skills to improve and grow in our roles. This is not different when you transition from the military. And it's important to keep a growth mindset during your transition as well. LinkedIn Learning is an outstanding tool to allow you to access, build, or enhance your skills with over thousands of business, technical, and creative courses taught by subject-matter experts. And another outstanding benefit of activating your LinkedIn Premium benefit as a veteran, military spouse, or caregiver is that you'll receive one-year free access to LinkedIn Learning. And we showed you how to redeem that free premium subscription in chapter one. LinkedIn Learning is great because it allows you to build skills anytime anywhere to support in connecting you with opportunity and reaching your full potential. For example, if you're considering a career in communications, getting certain skills is a major factor in qualifying for job opportunities. The great thing with LinkedIn Learning is that there are many courses at your fingertips. Simply type content marketing as an example in the search box at the top of the screen, select your course, and begin learning. Not sure what skills to build? Check out some job postings on LinkedIn using the process in the video, "Finding a Job." Those job postings will have descriptions outlining the specific skills employers are looking for for qualified candidates. Make a list of the skills required, check off the skills that you already developed, and then look for LinkedIn Learning courses to gain the remainder of the skills. Some veterans may want to start a career in project management post-military. Project management skills will allow you to get some situational awareness on whether that might be a good career choice for you and gather more insights about what this career field entails. Now, once you've completed a course, make sure employers and recruiters know about it. Go to My Learning, and select the three dots next to the course, and add to profile. So I challenge you to further explore all the incredible LinkedIn learning courses, and watch at least one course, and add it to your LinkedIn profile in the next month.
