- [Instructor] As an instructor, maintaining an online presence is critical for engagement and participation. I recommend the following to stay involved. First, be sure to let students know how to contact you. In order to ensure that you see questions or messages from the learners, they need to know how to get ahold of you. Don't get yourself in a situation where you have to check multiple emails, social media, and your learning management system to see if a learner has reached out. Secondly, make sure that any notification settings are optimized, so you can see communication as soon as possible. And finally, check on the platform often and engage with learners. Here's some ideas to stay engaged. Read over the discussions looking for a few things. When you see students working hard to be engaged, offer feedback and offer appreciation.
