- When do you come into contact with senior leadership? If you're in a big company, it could be very infrequently and you can't always plan it. You know, when you're talking with a senior leader, you want to come up across as confident and strategic. The first step to navigating these relationships is to know who the senior leaders are. Would you recognize your CEO if you saw she or he on the street? In big companies, unfortunately, the answer is often no, but there's really no excuse for this because they're on your company website. You want to find them and learn how to pronounce their names correctly. If you run into a senior leader, no matter their duration or importance, remember these things in this order. First and foremost, be normal. It can be easy to get flustered and say something stupid, but just breathe, remember, this interaction is a big deal to you, but is really only a very minor part of their day. So…
