Data governance in compliance, privacy, and security

- Data governance activities and objectives are weighed heavily in favor of outcomes related to compliance and risk management. In fact, these areas are tightly integrated today in what is commonly referred to as governance, risk and compliance, or GRC. GRC is broadly defined as a set of processes and capabilities that enable an organization to achieve its objectives, reduce uncertainty and act with integrity. These processes are not intended to be a burden. Moreover, the intent of GRC is to support and improve an organization. The meaning of compliance in this context refers to the individual team and organizational actions required to adhere to a policy, a standard, law or similar.
