No tolerance versus teachable moments
- If people don't show up for their work, unless someone's dying in their family. or someone's been hospitalized, there's no excuse. Like that, I don't have tolerance for. You show up because we leave the dock. I can't not have people show up like my last crew member, Tom. We leave, we set sail. There's no punching a time clock or walking in a door, the door floats away. And that means they're fired. For that particular scenario, Sandy Yawn, the captain, I don't tolerate. Other things I do and I think, "Okay, I can make that a teachable moment," but I make it really clear in the very beginning, so you can, too. So no tolerance versus teachable moments. And you, too, can learn that.
