Sharing a brief training moment
- Earlier in the course, we discussed how to prepare a brief three-minute training moment for the meeting. Often, the start of the meeting is a wonderful time to share that. Even if you don't feel that teaching or training other people is your greatest strength, every person can be a teacher in their own way. Let's explore some things that you can do to make that training as effective as possible. First, use something simple that grabs attendees attention. Begin with something that's positive, interesting and perhaps, a little bit out of the ordinary. Why? When someone comes to the meeting, their attention is all over the place. A visual way to think about this is they're looking up and down and to the sides. They may be thinking about what they were just working on or the game they saw on TV last night.
