- Not only will you make commitments to others during your meetings, but others will also make commitments to you. While we hope and expect that your coworkers will complete those assignments on time, it's also your responsibility to follow up with them. Keep this rule in mind. Whenever you delegate something or someone makes a commitment, create a reminder for yourself that you're waiting for its completion. It's like a yo-yo. A task out is a waiting for in. Create reminders for yourself in your calendar or in a task reminders app. I recommend setting that follow up reminder to not occur right on the due date, but maybe the day after. This gives the person a little space if they need to complete it. When the reminder pops up and you haven't heard from them yet, follow up with that person, keep it positive and friendly. You might ask them if they had a chance to complete it or how's it coming along. If they did…
