- Martin Nucturn joined Procter and Gamble as an assistant brand manager right out of school. 27 years later, he retired as the president of one of the company's global business units. Well, part of his leadership philosophy that helped him achieve all that success was that leaders should live the company values visibly. Now, he thinks when leaders behave that way, everyone else will follow. So one time he was on a business trip to New York to meet with his ad agency, and someone at the agency invited him to go to the Metropolitan Opera. You know, they knew he was a big fan, and in fact, when he was in New York, he never missed a performance. But opera tickets can be expensive, especially good tickets, and these tickets were very expensive. But at P&G, gifts over $25 are just not allowed by the conflict of interest policy. Martin would have to pay for it himself. Now, he tried, but in this case, when Martin got to the theater with the account exec, he couldn't see the ticket price…
