Hi, I'm Matthew Clark. And this is Lesson 3.4: IoT Ecosystems. In this lesson, we'll look at the three-layer architecture. We'll discuss the security controls and add the perception layer, communication layer, and application layer. And lastly, we'll explore fog computing. So let's get started. In Lesson 3.3, we looked at IoT architecture mainly from a data perspective. We divided the architecture into stages, which included things, data acquisition, edge IT, and cloud services. Each stage process data in a certain way and then moved it along a path. And based on that data, command and control was passed back down in the other direction. There's no defined or accepted IoT architecture template to use. You're going to see the same information displayed many different ways, depending on just different factors like who's displaying it, who the audience is, and quite frankly, what the IoT application has itself.
