Hi, I'm Matthew Clark. And this is Lesson 2.9: Case Study for CCleaner. In this lesson, we'll take a look at the supply chain failure for CCleaner. So let's get started. CCleaner history. They started off as a registry cleaner, removing all Windows programs entries. Their parent company or the company that formed them was pure form LTD and they were started with two gentlemen by the name of Guy Saner and Lindsey Whelan. Hopefully, I said those names correctly, but the company was founded in 2014 and it was formerly named the Crap Cleaner. And so I think they dropped the word "Crap" and put it CCleaner and basically cleans -- today it cleans Windows, Macs, and mobile apps, and was acquired by Avast in 2017.
