From the course: Introducing Semantic Kernel: Building AI-Based Apps

Who is Semantic Kernel (SK) for?

- So who is Semantic Kernel for? It's for the software developer who is having an amazing winter holiday break, came back to work, boss knocks on the door or sends a Teams message and says, "Hey, ChatGPT. It's amazing. Can you add that to our app next week or next month or fast, basically?" And the economy is a little bit shaky. You like put an emoji heart on the thing. "Of course, boss. I'll do that." And you realize, I got to figure this out. So you go online, you discover this acronym LLM AI. Large Language Model AI. You watch a few videos, and you're like, "Okay, I think I can do this." You get it to work, you say, "Yes, I got it to tell a joke in a surfer tone." Now how I'm going to do this in my app? Do I do that? They don't connect? I got to build this new LLM AI system out. And so two weeks have gone by. Your boss like sends you a Teams message and, "Hey, how's that coming?" "Oh, I'm going to deliver it, boss. It's going to be okay." 'Cause you're thinking about the promotion. You got to deliver this. Two weeks go by on top of that and you realize you couldn't do your regular job. So now you're in trouble. So it's that moment that's occurring across the world for developers who are pressured to do their main thing but also add this new thing that Semantic Kernel has been created for. Because Semantic Kernel makes it easy for developers to add LLM AI to their app.
