- For business leaders worldwide, understanding the shift in dynamics and demographics of the workforce is more important than ever. The new generation of talent brings a unique set of needs and expectations, and leaders must adapt and embrace these changes in order to have greater impact. Here are a few notable demographic predictions. According to the United Nations, the population in nearly every country is growing older. They state that by 2050, 1 in six people in the world will be over age 65. Racial diversity is growing in many nations. According to a recent survey conducted by Pew Research Center, approximately 69% of people surveyed across 27 nations said their respective nations have grown more diverse over the last 20 years. Close to half say that they favor a more racially diverse nation. Gender balance and pay gaps will improve, but not close.
