- Authenticity, transparency, these terms are used widely today, but are often misunderstood. How do you differentiate the two? Pause the video and jot down your response. (upbeat music) In today's rapidly evolving professional landscape, the demand for leaders who embody authenticity and transparency has never been more pronounced. Many people would describe authenticity as being real and transparency as being honest and telling the truth about what's going on. These aren't bad starting points, but for leaders in a workplace setting, they aren't absolute. Let's look at authenticity first. I define authenticity as speaking and behaving in alignment with one's values and the freedom to be your best self. To me, authentic leaders know themselves and act in accordance with their values. They inspire trust and loyalty among their teams, creating a workplace culture that values sincerity over pretense. They are courageous, speaking up for what's right.
