Use Role Guides

- [Instructor] If you're looking to learn more about a specific job role, then LinkedIn Learning has the perfect tool for you, and that is Role Guides. Role Guides provide learners with another way to discover content, content that's related to a specific job role. Now, I'm going to navigate to the left on the side navigation bar and click on the icon for Role Guides. I'll click here, and it brings me to the Role Guides page. I can see that there are Role Guides for the different libraries. There's ones for Business, Technology, and Creative. And I can even go ahead and expand them here. Now, LinkedIn Learning has created a set of Role Guides for about 35 to 40 of the most in-demand roles at organizations today. Here you can see some of those different roles, and I could click on one of them here if I wanted to look further into it. So let's say I'm interested in being a business analyst. Now, this might be if you are looking to go into a different role, or maybe just looking to improve in a role that you're currently in. I'm going to click here, and it brings me to the page for Business Analyst. Now, here, I can see an explanation of this role. Down below, I can see different tabs, Where to Get Started. And it has Top Courses for This Role where I can separate them by Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. I can also scroll through this carousel. If I scroll down, I can see here that they'll list the top skills s for someone looking to be a business analyst. Now, I could click on these individual skills, and they'll take me to courses related to that. So in other words, here, I could go to Business Process, and it will bring me to Business Process courses. I'm going to back up, though. And you'll notice here, Communication is checked. That's 'cause that's a skill that I'm already following. If you want to follow some of these skills, you can go up to the Follow Skills link, click on this, and then choose skills that you want to follow, something we've already looked at. But sometimes you'll look here and realize that there are skills that maybe you didn't even realize were associated with a certain role. Below this, we have learning paths, so there will be some more in-depth learning paths for these roles. And then at the bottom, some of them will have a Get Certified section, where it will let you know of any certifications you can receive related to this role that you can achieve on LinkedIn Learning. I'm going to scroll back up to the top, and you'll see that Get Certified role just brought me down there. Now, I think these are a really powerful tool because oftentimes there's things that we need to learn about that we're not even aware of, and these Role Guides help you to understand the-in demand and trending skills and tools that are needed for the specific roles. Now, it's possible that your organization has a Premium account, which gives them some extra features inside of here. First of all, you may see an additional tab that I don't have, customized specifically for your organization. It would likely be over here to the left and have your organization's name. This allows them to add roles specific to their organization so they can add in other ones beyond the ones provided by LinkedIn Learning. They can even customize the role descriptions to fit their company. It also allows them to add custom content to the Role Guides and to put job postings inside of there. Now, I bring that up because, if you do have another tab here, click on that, and you'll find useful information in there related to your specific organization. If not, you'll still see these tabs, and you can learn more about any of these different roles. So this is another powerful way to find content on LinkedIn Learning, especially if you're someone that's looking to learn more about a specific job role.
