Certificate of completion

- [Presenter] If you complete a course on LinkedIn Learning, congratulations. Not only have you improved yourself by acquiring new skills and knowledge, but you're demonstrating that you are an adaptable and willing lifelong learner. I've asked hundreds of employers what the most important skill is that potential employees can possess, and the top answer has been the ability and willingness to keep learning new things. On the screen, I have a course that I just completed on LinkedIn Learning. It's titled, "Video Editing Fundamentals." Now, when I finished, I got this message that says, "Congratulations, Oliver. You can now showcase your completed course on your LinkedIn profile." So if you'd like to download your certificate, you can do that here, but you can also share it on your profile. So here I'm going to go ahead and click on Add to LinkedIn Profile. And when I do, I get this pop-up box. At the top, it first asks if you want to add a skill to your profile, the skill that was in that video or that course. Now, in this case, this course was about video editing, but I don't really feel comfortable putting that as a skill on my LinkedIn account, so I'm going to uncheck that. Now below this, it gives you a link to your certificate, and then below that, you can create a post to share that you've completed it. And if I don't want to, I simply uncheck that. But if I do want to, I'll click here. This is the post that will appear, you can add to it if you want. And then you can decide if you want to send that out to the public, to only your connections, or to specific individuals. When you're done, you would click on Add to Profile. Now, I'm going to close this out, but in another tab I have my LinkedIn profile, and one of the sections here is licenses and certifications. And as you can see, I have a bunch of them in here. I have 93, and they are ones from LinkedIn Learning, things like "Strategic Thinking." This is a course that I took on there. So I like to showcase the fact that I'm continuing to learn and add these skills. Now, if I switch back here to my LinkedIn Learning account, I want to point out how you can access your certificate of completion on courses that you've already completed. Now, in order to do this, I'm going to go over to the left to my Career Journey tab, and then to My Library. And down here, I have Learning History. If I click on this, these are the courses that I've completed. So if I go here to say "Google Drive Essential Training," here, I'm on the course page. And remember that under Overview, one of the things here is certificates. And in this case, I'll click Show All, and now I can click on it and I can turn it on to create this certificate. I can decide if I want to share this out with the public, and I can craft that post. And then at the bottom, I could download it if I want to. So that's how you can access a certificate of completion for a course that you didn't just complete, but it's in your Learning History. So if you're a lifelong learner, be proud of it. I suggest adding these to your LinkedIn profile or sharing your accomplishment with your network to showcase the new skills that you've attained and also showcase that you are a lifelong learner.
