- My first position to Apple was software evangelist. I worked for Mike Boich. And our job was to go around the world, convincing people to write software and create hardware peripherals for a computer that basically didn't exist. So it was not yet shipping. The documentation was sort of draft. This was back when documentation was actually printed. It was on this really thin, sort of Yellow Pages-like material. God, people won't even know what the Yellow Pages anymore. But anyway, this is thin paper, okay. And so that was my job. And evangelism comes from Greek word meaning bringing the good news. So we brought the good news of Macintosh, that Macintosh would make you more creative and productive. So that was my first stint as an evangelist. Second stint, I left Apple, I returned as chief evangelist of Apple. And this time was to preserve the Macintosh cult, the Macintosh community. And again, it was still bringing…
