- [Instructor] Depending on your business strategy the concept of user retention might be all important. Many businesses will lose money to gain a user but then hope to make it up over time. Now, as we saw in the earlier eCommerce video that is not the strategy of the Google Merch Store. Or at least I hope it isn't as they had very few returning purchasers. But what about the installed game? The Flood-It! game. That might be a little bit different. So let's go ahead and check that out. Now, this is different indeed. They actually have more returning users than new users. And we often talk about cohort analysis and retention. And it'd be particularly interesting if you have large events that drive people in batches. I tend to think of cohorts kind of like a generation.
