- Let's continue our journey into some of the cool services in Azure, and we'll start with a look at Azure App Service. Now I'm going to start you off by explaining what App Service is and a bit of how it works, and then we'll create a web app in the Azure portal. We'll then look at how you can scale a web app either horizontally or vertically, and we'll look at how you can even scale an app automatically based on metrics that you choose. We'll see some cool features that allow you to easily add authentication functionality to your web app and how you can let users authenticate using social media or other accounts that they already have, all without any kind of complicated configuration. I'll show you how to configure automated backups for your web apps so you're safe if something bad happens. And we'll look at how you can use your own domain name with your web app and Azure.
