- [Instructor] All right, now that you have a solid foundation of knowledge about the cloud and its benefits, let's start getting our hands on some more Azure technologies. And we're going to start with Azure Virtual Machines. Now, you may already know what a virtual machine is. If you don't, it's simply a virtual computer that runs on another computer called a host computer. And the virtual machine shares resources like networking, hard drive space, CPU, and memory with the host computer. If you have a powerful host computer, you can run several virtual machines on it, and that means you're turning one powerful computer into many computers. Now, virtual machines in Azure work the same way. Microsoft has powerful computers in their data centers and they use these computers to host virtual machines that you create.
