Extract text from cells using the new TEXTBEFORE and TEXTAFTER functions

- [Instructor] When you're trying to split data 2 into multiple cells, 3 there are a number of different approaches, 4 different techniques and methods we could be using in Excel. 5 You could be relying on some text functions. 6 We've got a few of them listed over in column H. 7 Often you'll need to use these 8 in combination with each other. 9 FIND, SEARCH, MID, LEFT, RIGHT, LEN, 10 and possibly a newer function called TEXTSPLIT. 11 And two more new text functions 12 are shown in the yellow panel 13 toward the bottom of the screen here. 14 TEXTBEFORE and TEXTAFTER. 15 And you see the descriptions. 16 Sometimes we want to extract data 17 to the left of a certain character, 18 a delimiting character, 19 like a dash or comma, 20 or TEXTAFTER, return text to the right 21 of delimiting characters. 22 There could be times when we could use either one of these. 23 We've got some data in column A. 24 It's a bit…
