- [Instructor] A very useful data management tool in Excel when you're working with lists is a feature called Subtotal. It's found on the Data tab and depending upon your display and screen resolution, you'll likely see it off to the right in the Outline group, either horizontally oriented or vertically oriented. Two different examples are shown here. And in this list we see over in the left-hand side, as I start to scroll up and down, this isn't a typical looking list. Notice that we've got some people in a department called ADC. There's only one contract person, but we've got a total for that person. Then we've got two people that are full-time. We see a total there and half-time. And as we move down the list, we're seeing similar kinds of breakouts here for different departments here. And it's widely different too in terms of the number of employees per department. The question is how do you get to this feature? And…
