Here's an example of why you really need to rejoice that we live in the fun, jubilant days of Power Query and not those bad, old pre Power Query days. Here we have data that's all smashed together and we need to get it separated. This happens, say we get data out of a database and it comes to us in a CSV file and then we try to break it out and it comes out like this. Maybe we paste data in from a web page or try to break data out of a PDF. Let's look at Margo Jeffries. We've got Margo's ID in C408, and then PhD and JD, those are professional designations that we do want to keep. We see that Margo is 51 years old and then we get Margo's email address. We want to separate ID, first name, last name. We don't want age. We want to keep the email address. Split columns by delimiter in Power Query. And by the way, ignore that data is starting in Row 18.
