Let's talk about fuzzy matching in Power Query. Fuzzy matching is that task that we have to do when we've got to get things matched up, but they don't quite match up. Let's say you have James Thomas. And then in another set, there's James E. Thomas IV. And you know that they're the same person. You could match him up if there was only, say, five rows of data to get matched up. But what happens when you have a lot of data where you can't manually do that? And so what I'm going to show you about fuzzy matching, you really need to use this strategically. This is not the thing that's going to just do it for you. Okay. Let's look at our data. We've got donor information. At the top, We have J.C. Giorlando. The next one is Caroline Giorlando. Interesting. But over in column F, we see Judy Caroline Giorlando and Judy's email address. So ideally, we would get Judy Carolines Giorlando and that email address matched up with J.C.
