Let's talk about drill down in Power Query is also called passing a parameter. We can also look at it as creating variables within Power Query. Now, let's look at this data. We have athletes, their levels. E is elite, Pro, professional A, amateur, N, novice. The cities, the days since their last competition, whether they've paid their fees, submitted proof of insurance. We've got the contact information and we have a phone number column. So here is all of our source data. And in our role, we'd never deal with professionals. We will only want to look at this data at the city level at any one time. We would like to set a parameter that says how many days since the last contest, 15, 180 or whatever. And we'd like to be able to look at that data just that way. We could filter, we could use slicers, but slicers take up space, and filter buttons can make the data kind of clumsy.
