From the course: Excel: Power Query for Beginners

What you should know

- [Instructor] So before you continue this course, it's a good idea to know the prerequisites so that you know what you should know. First of all, it's best if you have an intermediate knowledge of Excel. In other words, you should know how to enter data into cells, you should know how to insert rows and columns and remove them. You should also have a good idea of how to filter and how to sort. The other thing you should know is that, at the time of this recording, Power Query is only supported in Excel for Windows. And the version I'm using is the Excel desktop app that you get with a Microsoft 365 subscription. But if you have another version like Excel 2016 or 2019, I will call out the differences when those occur. And finally, if you are using an earlier version, that's okay. Just keep in mind that you might get this warning when opening up the exercise files. This just means that, when I made the files I did so with a newer version than what you have. Usually you can just close the warning and the file will work just fine. Okay. With all of that, out of the way, let's proceed with the course and get going with Power Query.
