- [Instructor] After you have created a number of PivotTables, you might find that you have a specific configuration that you like to use. In this movie, I will show you how to save a PivotTable configuration as the default for a workbook so every new PivotTable you create will have those characteristics. My sample file is 01_09_Default, and you can find it in the chapter one folder of the exercise files collection. To set the default format for a PivotTable, go to the file tab on the ribbon, and then at the very bottom, click options to open the Excel options dialog box. And from here, click data to move to the data page. And the first item on this page is edit default layout. And the text beside it indicates it's for PivotTables. So edit default layout, and the edit default layout dialog box appears. In the edit default layout dialog box, you have a number of options that you can pursue.
