- [Instructor] It's quite an accomplishment once you get your first pivot table set up with row fields, column fields, and filters. But one important thing to know about is how to update a pivot table. For example, let's say we changed this timeline filter down here so that the pivot table only shows January transactions. And let's see what happens when we change the source data. So I'm going to move over here to the left a little bit. And on January 2nd, Mom had $120 worth of groceries that she spent. I'm going to change this to 1200 and press Enter. When I do that, notice how Mom's $120 didn't get updated to 1200 here, and that's because there's a little extra step to take with pivot tables, and that is to right click the pivot table and then choose Refresh. And there we see that $1,200. You might think, why didn't this happen automatically? Well, when you make a pivot table, it takes a snapshot of the source data…
