- [Instructor] Excel tables let you store and summarize your data in a flexible and efficient manner. You can greatly extend the capability of Excel tables by creating PivotTables and PivotCharts, which let you rearrange and summarize your data quickly. In this movie, I will show you how to create and work with PivotTables and also PivotCharts. My samples file is "01_02_CreatePivot," and you can find it in the chapter one folder of the exercise files collection. In this workbook, I have an Excel table that contains monthly sales data for three different categories, and I'd like to create both a PivotTable and a PivotChart. You can create both at the same time, but for this example, I will show you how to create a PivotTable and then create a PivotChart from that.
