- Imagine that you're about to borrow some money, $25,000. The interest rate is 3.50%. You want to pay off the loan. 48 payments, four years. And we need to use a function here unless you know the complicated mathematics behind calculating the answer here, and let's say that you've already discovered by way of the Financial tab that the function you need is PMT. Now, the description here gives you some information. Tell me more will activate the help system. Doesn't quite take us to where we want to. We could in the search panel here type in PMT, enter, and get some help. We still have to go a bit further here to hone in on this particular function, and we could print this too. This works for some people. It might provide you with just the information you need, but sometimes that's not good enough.
