(upbeat music) - [Narrator] All right, folks, it's time for a challenge problem. This is your chance to practice using ohms law. For this challenge, I want you to use ohms law to determine an appropriate resistance value for the resistor in this circuit to limit the amount of current that goes through a light emitting diode or LED. This is a very common task when working with hobbyist electronics. In LED is a special type of electrical component that emits light when current flows through it, working with LEDs can be a bit tricky, because they're an electrical component that does not follow ohms law like resistors do. You cannot treat an LED like a resistor when designing a circuit. The details about how an LED works are beyond the scope of this course, but for this exercise, you'll need to know three things about it.
