- Many of the signals we use in electronic circuits come from a transducer, which is a device that converts from one form of energy into another. In the realm of electronics, transducers are used to convert some physical phenomena into an electrical signal, which is a voltage or current that conveys some sort of information and to convert that electrical signal back into another useful form of energy. For example, right now, I'm speaking into a microphone, which is a transducer that converts the energy from the sound waves of my voice into an electrical signal.
