- [Instructor] When you need information about the characteristics of an electronic component, look no further than the datasheet. More electronic components will have instruction manuals called a datasheet or spec sheet, which give you information about what that component is capable of, and how to use it. Unfortunately, datasheets can be a bit intimidating for folks who are new to electronics because they're usually written by engineers for engineers, so they're dense and full of technical jargon. Also, it's up to the component manufacturers to determine which details go into their datasheets and how it's formatted. That means the datasheets for two similar parts that are produced by different manufacturers often look very different from each other. Finding the right datasheet can be a bit tricky sometimes.
