- [Instructor] All right, folks. It's time for a challenge to practice designing circuits with resistors. I need your help to design a light activated switch that will turn on my stereo in the morning when the sun shines in my room. The device will consist of two parts, a light detector circuit, and a relay switch circuit connected to my stereo. I've already built the relay circuit for my device. So all you need to do is design the light detector. When designing large complex devices, it's common practice to break down the system into smaller subsections that can be designed independently, and they're connected to each other with an agreed upon interface. You don't need to know what components are in my relay circuit or how it works to design your light detector. You just need to know how to interface with my relay circuit.
