- [Instructor] Once you've put your basic business case together, you need to start gathering your data. This is a critical step as the data you collect will be key in making your case for more money, time, or resources. Understand often product data will give leading indicators like more daily active users, but these can often lead to lagging indicators like more revenue. It's your job to show how data leads and how your case can increase those leading indicators, and hopefully, the lagging ones will follow. Let's look at the data inputs we'll need for our business case. First off, who is your target audience? Is this a new audience or an existing segment? Don't just assume all users, if this is about a UX or feature change, learn more about who this might attract or benefit. Be as specific as you can. Next, what is the pain or problem that you're addressing? This is a key factor in the case. You need to show that there's a pain that you can address. And finally, what's the desired…
