- [Instructor] Tables created in InDesign are handled quite well when exporting to an accessible PDF file. Where some programs struggle with things like merge cells, InDesign handles them beautifully. The main requirement for accessible tables is defining a header row in each table. So let me walk you through how to do that in InDesign. I'm going to go ahead and navigate to page 17 of this document where I have a couple of tables that have been created. Now, as a reminder, the tables on this page, a lot of people may try to build all of this content as one big table and the reason that that's not a recommended approach is because you've got a heading for dental insurance, life insurance and retirement plan that occur not at the top of the table.
