- Have you ever been passed over for a promotion? It's gut wrenching. I remember the time someone got promoted over me. Everyone knew we were both up for it, and the other guy got it. I didn't. And I had to go into the office the next day and watch everyone congratulate him while they were afraid to make eye contact with me. I felt like a total loser. It was if I was wearing a shirt that said "Passed Over." when someone doesn't get the promotion they wanted, it can be an awkward conversation.
