- [Instructor] Cloud security considerations should be fully integrated into every step of the cloud computing architecture creation process. Thus, it's difficult to define this as a separate step, as we have with other topics such as selecting a database or picking a CPU and operating system. Cloud security entails any number of factors that are needed to protect the applications and data housed on public cloud providers we're using. It's systemic to everything we do in order to be successful. Thus, it's important to understand that cloud security, at an architectural level, requires a specific set and/or technology, including the use of encryption in flight and at rest, uses of identity management, including directories that store identities, use of specific cloud security services on the public cloud platforms you're leveraging, data security, platform security, and other forms of security.
