Minor chords

- All right. Let's learn some new chords. So I want to show you guys some minor chords. And minor chords are often thought of as being sadder sounding chords than major chords. The chords we've learned thus far, even though we've said, a G chord or a C chord, they're actually major chords which sound bright and happy. So these minor chords sound kind of sad, but by going back and forth from happy chords to sad chords, you can get the sort of rise and fall effect for the listener or for the audience. So minor chords are just marked with M-I-N after them. So let's check out A minor, which is marked A min. Check it out. (plays guitar) And now for D minor. (plays guitar) And then E minor. (plays guitar) To get better at those three new chords, let's try this next song. This is called "Heavy Fog." One, two, three, four. (plays guitar) All right. So now let's mix minor chords and major chords. And this gives that rise and fall effect that I was talking about earlier. And this song is called "Heavy Fog, It Makes Me Happy." Here we go. One, two, three four. (plays guitar)
