- Now for Country and Bluegrass Strumming. So here you're just going to play a bass note, a single note, and then strum. So, basically, it moves between a few different strings, and just make sure to go for accuracy, make sure you're playing the correct string. Try to look back and forth between your hands, eventually you'll just feel where that string is, and you won't have to look. Let's try it; here we go. One, two, three, four. (country guitar music) All right, so once you get more comfortable with those strumming patterns, feel free to switch them up. Try doing the first strumming pattern, going into the second strumming pattern, and those kinds of things. Let's check out an example that does just that. We're going to do Boil The Cabbage Down. You can use any of the strumming patterns that you would like on that, but for just demonstration, I'm going to go through and play the first two bars of just all eighth notes, and then the next two bars, I'll do a quarter note, and then…
