Employee resource groups (ERGs)

- One of my clients started an employee resource group several years ago. The group had a main objective to change the company's policies and practices. The ERG was created for non-white employees in the organization to have a safe space, but also to be able to impact the organization's systems. Many employees joined the ERG because they thought they would be change agents in their workplace. ERGs and affinity groups are a collection of employees who have a shared identity or lived experiences, such as being a veteran or parent or guardian. Some ERGs are for communities for marginalized or underrepresented identities in the workplace, such as Muslim employees or Asian employees. In the last video, we talked about coalition building.
