- [Instructor] Welcome to the first of a two part series in my AutoCAD tips and tricks. So in this particular one we're going to look at using regions, but in a 2D environment. So we've got a drawing for you, it's 304-Simple 2D Gasket.dwg and you can download it from the library to follow along with this particular tips and tricks video. Now, what we're going to do in this particular video is convert some regular AutoCAD objects into what they call AutoCAD regions. And the preparation here is to convert these objects into a 3D solid eventually. Now in this first video, what we're going to do is we're going to convert the objects to regions first. It's a fairly easy process but I'm going to get you doing a little bit of drafting just to get things to look the way they should.
